For a long time, I searched for the perfect coffee replacement drink – something that would keep me energized, focused, and emotionally balanced. While I still love my coffee, I also realize that having coffee every day affects my digestive system, as well as my nervous system. I’ve tried matcha, turmeric, chai tea lattes, and herbal tea mixers, and nothing really came close to the same satisfaction level that a good cup of coffee gives you, except, obviously, for hot chocolate. Although drinking hot chocolate every day sounds like a childhood dream, I wouldn’t recommend doing so either.🙂

So, I finally created my magical superpower drink - the Cacao Reishi Adaptogen Latte which combines the gentle caffeine kick of cacao with the mood-balancing power of adaptogens such as reishi mushroom and ashwagandha.

CACAO REISHI ADAPTOGEN LATTE - Your Barista-Level Coffee Alternative

Servings: 1 cup

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 heaping tbsp Cacao Powder
  • 1 or 2 tsp Coconut Sugar (adjust according to your preferences)
  • 1 tbsp Coconut Milk Powder (optional, for extra creaminess)
  • 1/4 tsp Reishi Mushroom Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Ashwagandha Powder
  • 1/2 cup Plant Milk (of your choice)
  • 1/2 cup Boiling Water

Instructions:

Step 1: Gather all the ingredients. I always search for high-quality Cacao Powder, Coconut Sugar, Coconut Milk Powder, Reishi Mushroom Powder, and Ashwagandha Powder. Get your favorite Plant Milk, or make your own. Oat or cashew milk would work best for this recipe. Get your boiling water ready.

Step 2: In your favorite mug, combine all the dry ingredients, then pour in the hot water.

Step 3: Use a handheld frother to ensure all the ingredients are evenly mixed.

Step 4: Use an electric frother and steamer to prepare your milk. Then, pour it over the cacao adaptogen mixture. Enjoy and savor each sip mindfully!

NOTE: You can also mix everything in a high-speed blender and pour over ice for a refreshing Iced Latte drink or just keep it as a hot latte right out of the blender. Just remember, you need to use hot water at first so all the powders get mixed evenly.
